The group was founded by Jade, an 18-year-old who brought her younger brother, Christian, aged four, onto the stage. Jade explained that the entire reason she started the group was for Christian, who was born with physical challenges and was told by doctors that he would never be able to communicate .
Jade took it upon herself to teach Christian sign language so he could finally talk . Seeing Christian succeed was a “little miracle” that proved everyone wrong and inspired Jade to spread this method to others . This personal victory led them to start a community class, and the group grew rapidly as people wanted to get involved .

Their performance was a moving rendition of “This Is Me” from the movie The Greatest Showman, with the entire group signing the lyrics as they sang . The inclusive performance featured members of all ages and abilities, embodying a powerful message of acceptance and defiance against those who exclude them.
Following the audition, the judges were deeply moved. Alesha Dixon described the song as “such an anthem” for people who feel isolated and called the performance “really, really moving” . Simon Cowell revealed a personal connection to one of the young performers, Ella, who he had previously met when she received a Child of Courage Award [.
Overwhelmed by the emotion and the positive message, David Walliams stood up, ran to the judges’ desk, and pressed the Golden Buzzer . The golden confetti rained down as Walliams declared the performance “amazing,” securing the Sign Along With Us a guaranteed place in the live semi-finals .
